Do I need a licensed electrician to install an EV charger?

Yes. A wall-mounted EV charger is a fixed electrical installation and must be installed by a licensed electrical contractor in WA.

 

Do I need solar to install an EV charger?

No. A charger runs from the grid on its own. With solar, a solar-aware charger can top up your car using excess solar power, which can lower your running costs.

 

Will my switchboard handle an EV charger?
